I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. I address both areas, always encouraging the student.
I have taught as a tutor in High School, and college. I also taught in the adult education system of Fairborn, Ohio. I have acted as a group home monitor for MR/DD adults. I am presently tutoring a young adult in cost control and algebra.

As an undergraduate I studied computer engineering with a minor in math. After earning my B.S. I wanted to continue studies and push my career more towards math and physics so I earned an M.S. in electrical engineering. As a graduate student I had a revelation that caused me to reexamine math and engineering concepts, which led to a deeper understanding of them. I am now pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering. My teaching experienced has been unfortunately limited to tutoring family and friends in their college math courses over the past few years. In order to learn something, take something in and understand it, one must have something already to attach it to in their minds.
