Some students remember best what they see, some what they hear, but nearly all will best recall material that they see hear say and do something with. My teaching style is one that tries to incorporate seeing, hearing, saying, and doing and getting students to use higher order thinking skills as much as I can. More than just rote memory and recall, I want then to be able to apply acquired knowledge to solve problems or create new ideas based on their previous learning. I have worked in both the public and private school settings and have 20 years teaching experience. I have taught elementary school for 16 years. One year in the Lincoln Country School District and 15 years in the Rockwood School District. I have taught grades 1,2,3 and 5. I served as grade level chair in each grade level, on all subject area commitees, and as teacher's representative to the PTO. I have tutored students for the before and after school program.
