I have worked in both the public and private school settings and have 20 years teaching experience. I enjoy the most the opportunity to work with a child individually because that direct time and attention often makes it easier to assess areas of weakness and how best to adapt instruction to the learner's needs and learning style. One of my most cherished teaching positions was at the Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences, a residential high school for gifted junior and seniors. I have taught elementary school for 16 years. One year in the Lincoln Country School District and 15 years in the Rockwood School District. I have taught grades 1,2,3 and 5. I served as grade level chair in each grade level, on all subject area commitees, and as teacher's representative to the PTO. I have tutored students for the before and after school program.
