Teaching is my passion. I believe that a teacher is one of the most influential role models in a child's life. My goal is to plant that seed in a positive way. Therefore, as educators we can help build a society consisting of children who can make decisions to make our world a better place. I am an advocate of positive reinforcement when I teach children. I also believe that teachers should provide consistency and reliability for their students.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Having this Bachelor of Science degree has allowed me to have comprehensive knowledge in various areas. I enjoy children and trying to teach them new and exciting things. At times, I understand that it requires patience to work with children, but if you are able to do that then chances of success are much more likely. I believe that everything we teach to these children will be needed sooner or later in life, and that the understanding of this knowledge will further improve their lives. Rewarding a student for their efforts in trying to understand the material is my game plan. I want them to feel accomplished and satisfied for their hard work.

As a teacher with dyslexia I felt that I was unable to teach reading to my students. I went in search of more training and found Alphabetic Phonics a Orton Gillingham program. I have sense used what I learn in the almost 160 hours of training with 11 students and seen progress in all of them.
I love working with children and helping fulfill their potential. I like at children as water that must be directed in the right direction. I will do this my trying to find research validated methods of teaching that teaching to all the learning styles. If the child does not learn the first time I will try again and again until they have got it.
