I have always been extremely focused on education, both my own and that of others. Starting in elementary school, I was assigned as a peer tutor to other students who had difficulty grasping the material. I continued to tutor my classmates until graduation. While in high school, I also began tutoring students that were still in elementary and middle school. Although I considered education as a career, I instead opted to major in psychology, in which I earned a BA in 2007. I also hold an AA in Liberal Studies. When I taught sailing to young kids, I used to dress up like a pirate. I have lots of energy. I know I'm doing my job right when kids start laughing. When I taught to teenagers, I kept in mind my own experiences at that age. If I'm helping a student study hard on that big, important test that might have the ability to crush the student's soul - I bust out my acoustic guitar and sing about how It's The End of The World As We Know It (And This Test Means Very Little In The Long Run).
