My teaching style is is very "hands on." Once I know what learning style my student is,I manipulate my instruction according to their different learning styles whether they be visual, audio, etc. I am a firm believer that every child can learn, as long as they have the support they need. As a teacher, I consider myself to be patient, encouraging, and easy going. I began my educational journey in the Spanish language when I started going on short-term trips with my church.Shortly after, I decided to study the language in a intense submersion course for two-semesters in Colima, Mexico. By being constantly surrounded by the language, I was able to learn and comprehend Spanish in a short amount of time. I returned to my University in Springfield, Missouri and received my BS in Spanish with a minor in sociology. I then decided that I wanted to teach this beautiful and useful language. Throughout high school and college, I performed at an academic level well above average. As a result, I often found myself helping my fellow students. As part of my graduate assistantship at Missouri State, I work in the math tutoring lab several hours a week, tutoring (primarily) algebra and calculus students. I also teach MTH 102, which is approximately equivalent to high school Algebra II.
