Once I know what learning style my student is,I manipulate my instruction according to their different learning styles whether they be visual, audio, etc. I am a firm believer that every child can learn, as long as they have the support they need. After living in Spain and learning Spanish as a teenager, I accelerated quickly in the Spanish language and literature program, later going on into the Master's program. I earned my first teaching credential in California where I taught for several years before moving to Missouri.
I believe the best learning occurs when both a discrete point and holistic approach are used interactively. I like to break down the concepts into small steps which then fit together into a well-designed staircase leading up to the higher levels. A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have only been teaching in a classroom setting for the last two semesters, I have spent a great deal of time teaching friends and fellow students over the years. I am very patient and able to adapt to the student with whom I am working. I am a firm believer that learning, and learning math especially, is not a spectator sport and that a great deal of practice is required to fully understand most material. A Little Bit About Me...

I began my educational journey in the Spanish language when I started going on short-term trips with my church.Shortly after, I decided to study the language in a intense submersion course for two-semesters in Colima, Mexico. By being constantly surrounded by the language, I was able to learn and comprehend Spanish in a short amount of time. I returned to my University in Springfield, Missouri and received my BS in Spanish with a minor in sociology. I then decided that I wanted to teach this beautiful and useful language.
