A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in History with a minor in Archaeology, and am a member of two honor societies. As a history major, my fields of expertise include research, critical analysis, and writing. From 2006 to 2009, I tutored writing in all subjects at a local community college.
As a tutor, I believe it is my job to facilitate the individual thinking processes and strengths of each student. I am patient, attentive to students' concerns, and comfortable with many different learning styles. I do not lecture, but prefer to ask questions that will allow the students not only to master the material at hand but to apply what they have learned to future problems.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate student at Central Washington University, I was self motivated and involved in various activities. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BA in Sociology and BA in Law and Justice. In addition to these two broad areas of studies, I am a McNair Scholars recipient and conducted graduate level research. I have mentored and advised students as an employee in student affairs and as a Teacher's Assistant in the Law and Justice Department. During the last 5 years I have tutored students in Sociology, psychology, philosophy and basic grammar skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

I returned to college in my mid-40s to complete a Bachelor's degree, majoring in Biology, minoring in Chemistry and Pre-professional Studies. This enabled me to attain competent understanding of not only the hard science classes, but also to experience writing and presentation skills at the professional level. As a current Biology master's student, I continue to hone those skills as well as pass them on to others. More About This Tutor...

As a double major in Economics and Sociology I gained extensive experience with both mathematics as well as writing and oral presentations. In my final semester I enrolled in two graduate level classes and despite the difficulty of my class schedule worked even harder to achieve a 4.0 GPA for that semester. The combination of Economics and Sociology has provided a unique opportunity for me to develop my ability to understand complicated mathematical theories and equations and explain them in both written and oral forms. Although, I have not formally tutored, I participated in numerous study groups and have informally tutored friends. In addition I was a CPR teacher for two years.
