I have a BA in History with a minor in Archaeology, and am a member of two honor societies. As a history major, my fields of expertise include research, critical analysis, and writing. From 2006 to 2009, I tutored writing in all subjects at a local community college.
As a tutor, I believe it is my job to facilitate the individual thinking processes and strengths of each student. I am patient, attentive to students' concerns, and comfortable with many different learning styles. As an undergraduate student at Central Washington University, I was self motivated and involved in various activities. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BA in Sociology and BA in Law and Justice. In addition to these two broad areas of studies, I am a McNair Scholars recipient and conducted graduate level research. I have mentored and advised students as an employee in student affairs and as a Teacher's Assistant in the Law and Justice Department. I returned to college in my mid-40s to complete a Bachelor's degree, majoring in Biology, minoring in Chemistry and Pre-professional Studies. This enabled me to attain competent understanding of not only the hard science classes, but also to experience writing and presentation skills at the professional level. A Little Bit About Me...

As a double major in Economics and Sociology I gained extensive experience with both mathematics as well as writing and oral presentations. In my final semester I enrolled in two graduate level classes and despite the difficulty of my class schedule worked even harder to achieve a 4.0 GPA for that semester. The combination of Economics and Sociology has provided a unique opportunity for me to develop my ability to understand complicated mathematical theories and equations and explain them in both written and oral forms. As a high school honors student, I majored in English and achieved the highest score possible (five -- 5) on the English Exam. In College, I pursued my interest in English language by majoring in Literature, with an emphasis upon etymology, linguistics, speech and rhetoric. My senior thesis on the poetic technique of Alexander Pope earned both an "Honors A" and that year's sole English Faculty Award. I later chose to attend a law school that was renowned for its general emphasis upon writing and, in particular, "plain English" legal communication.
