Saxophone is one of my top subjects! I can teach soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone beginner and intermediate players. I have played the saxophone for over 6 years, and I have a well amount of experience with teaching beginner and intermediate sax players different tools and skills they will need to improve their sound and quality of their tone, as well as improving their skills in reading music.

I have been playing alto, soprano, and tenor saxophone for over 6 years. I also work for the REC program in Mobile, Alabama as a saxophone teacher. I work well with people and I am patient with my students when teaching and tutoring. I can teach anyone who wants to learn how to play soprano, alto, or tenor saxophone as well as improve players who are playing the saxophone.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a "hands-on" approach is the best way to retain knowledge given all learning styles. If we do it, we will remember it. If learning is considered fun, we want to do it and all subject areas can have an element of fun. Positive reinforcement within a structured environment is my style of classroom management and it works. If a student knows what is expected, knows the consequences, and knows it will be consistent every time, problems decerase.
Following the birth of my third child, I taught at her pre-school and caught the teaching "bug". I then completed a graduate program in Elementary Education, taught for one year in the public school system in Florida and then taught for one year in Alabama. I'm a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I attained my degree is Paychology. I wish to pursue my master degree in community counseling. I love working with children. In high school I tutored kids in math, reading, and science at the YMCA in their after school program. While at UAB I gained skills in writing research papers and doing lab work. I also worked with Camp Fire USA in their Links-up Mentoring program.

When my only son was born I was a caregiver to my mother who had suffered numerous strokes and was wheelchair bound. When he started school I became a full time substitute teacher and then enrolled in Florida's Teacher Professional Educator's Certification program.I am certified in k-6th and Integrated Middle School. I homeschooled my only son in the 9th and 10th grades due to a bully situation. I am very proud to say he is graduating this year from the University of Florida, Cum Laude in Biochemistry and math. He will continue on to med school in the fall. I love children and enjoy teaching.
