I use the same method that I used on my son to achieve; we sit down, isolated, and concentrate on just what the problems are and how to achieve the end results. No messing around. I am not strict but I believe in having the child focus on just what the subject matter is. I had one student who I took from a 34 in Algbra to a 95 in one month but it took devotion from him and I. It was about 2 weeks in the session before he realized just how important his education was and then he took off, it was like a new person. I love children and believe that everyone of them can be academically successful. All children, in my eyes, are precious, and deserve a chance in life to achieve. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a "hands-on" approach is the best way to retain knowledge given all learning styles. If we do it, we will remember it. If learning is considered fun, we want to do it and all subject areas can have an element of fun. Positive reinforcement within a structured environment is my style of classroom management and it works. If a student knows what is expected, knows the consequences, and knows it will be consistent every time, problems decerase.
Following the birth of my third child, I taught at her pre-school and caught the teaching "bug". I then completed a graduate program in Elementary Education, taught for one year in the public school system in Florida and then taught for one year in Alabama.
