Learn while having fun. My methods achieve results.

Held Study 2 hour sessions with over 10 students 3-5 times per week in Engineering Schools. Classes included: Calculus 1 & 2, Statics and Dynamics. Also did indivdual sessions. Was highly recommended and considered the best tutoror i Engineering. Have been a financial adivisor so I have held many seminars and had many face to face with clients teaching them about money. Have privately tutored friends and reletives for years. The result has always brought As.
Very relaxed fun. Making the student feel comfortable and letting them figure the solution out on their own with as little imput as possible. Sort of like spotting in weighlifting. I also focus on a holistic method which is about understanding the problem with as little memorization is possible. The idea is if you can understand the concept then it is very easy to apply the answer with very little modification.

Relaxed but hands-on. I ask students to do a lot of practice to familiarize themselves with the subject/topic at hand while providing lots of support.
I have a year of experience working as a Peer Facilitator at New Mexico State University where I was responsible for grading papers, tutoring, facilitating biology workshops, and hosting exam review sessions for lower level undergraduate biology courses. I am a great tutor because I use my experiences as a student to relate to the students that I am tutoring and encourage them to learn from my mistakes. I try to create a light, relaxed learning environment and encourage students to practice and participate as much as a possible. I also strive to help students build confidence in the subject as well as confidence in their own personal abilities.

I have been teaching piano and bass guitar to students for almost 10 years. I am a 4.0 student who has mastered the ability to study efficiently. In 2010, I was awarded a teaching assistantship at the University of New Mexico where I was asked to teach 2 undergraduate classes in communication. However, I rejected this position as I accepted a Master's program at a different University, but underwent the training required for TA's at UNM.
I believe that students learn best in an environment that promotes encouragement and relational interaction with their tutors. While I believe in creating a stress free, fun environment, I believe in helping students set their own rigorous goals. I am skilled at helping students create plans that help them achieve the goals they have in their education. My style could be described as a combination of structured organization and stress free fun.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have about 10 years teaching experience in both the middle school and high school level. Some of the subjects I have taught include American History, World History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and Earth Science. For the last 6 years I have been teaching primarily mathematics courses: Pre-algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-calculus. Because I had to take many courses for my master’s degree, I also have excellent skills in writing term papers, reports, and papers. Since I have graded and read many papers, I know what teachers’ expectations are for papers and what makes the difference between an “A” paper and a “B” paper.

I enjoy teaching because I love to learn. My diverse experiences have helped me become a well-rounded flexible and professional teacher who enjoys collaborating and learning from people from all backgrounds, ability levels, and ages. I am good at listening, remaining patient, solving problems and communicating information clearly. I embrace the individual and strengths that students bring into the classroom instead of focusing on the perceived weakness.I also share my passion, curiosity for math. Math is something fun to do.
I was working as an statistician researcher for UNICEF when I decided to become a math teacher. I realized that my real passion was not conducting research, but teaching students. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style first involves me putting myself in the shoes of the students and forming my daily teaching in a organized, goal oriented and interesting manner. In math the goal is introduced and the concept taught with probing questions to stimulate their thinking and participation. Mistakes are not uncommon in math as I learned from my professors who were occasionally corrected by students; this gives students an increased confidence toward the mastering of the subject. Especially in math, an empowerment of learning math must be seen in the teaching experience; this is one of the key requirements I have in my teaching philosophy. I beam when the light bulb goes on in the mind of the student! I teach so that the student knows once they learn a math concept, they will never have to relearn it again as it will never change.

Since I graduated from UNM in Applied Mathematics, I had a desire for functions and algorithms so I chose to go for Bioinformatics, computational biology, and pursue my dream in life science field. As my undergraduate experience, TA, I used to tutor so many of my students and help them with difficulties in their homework and exams.

A Little Bit About Me...

Thanks to a fortunate background, I have always been pushed and motivated towards educational excellence. As a result of this, I have always searched for ways to give back to the community to which I belong. The words, "To whom much is given, much is expected" continually ring in my ears. I have received a BS in Biology and as a result I have a strong background in Chemistry, Calculus and Statistics. I have also pursued a minor in Spanish and as a result I have both studied abroad and achieved fluency in the language. During two years of college I was a Teacher's Assistant, providing me with a strong one-on-one teaching background. As a T.A., I also gained experience teaching classes. In addition to a strong education and background in teaching, I have also conducted research in my field which adds both practicality and application to the education I have received.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am convinced, partly because of my own experiences, that the current educational system best serves the needs of the average student. I also believe that it seldom addresses the needs of those students whose learning style is not a good fit with the one size fits all educational system. This may be for a wide variety of reasons, but the result is that the student is left without the needed skill set to compete and what’s worse, left with the message that they are responsible for "not getting it" and are inferior or stupid in some respect. I nearly flunked junior high pre-algebra, and was a mediocre math student in high school. I eventually managed to teach myself, and have subsequently scored 800 on the math section of the GRE and was one of about 50/15000 to score a perfect 15 on the quantitative section of the medical college admission test (MCAT).
