Learn while having fun. My methods achieve results.

Very relaxed fun. Making the student feel comfortable and letting them figure the solution out on their own with as little imput as possible. Sort of like spotting in weighlifting. I also focus on a holistic method which is about understanding the problem with as little memorization is possible. The idea is if you can understand the concept then it is very easy to apply the answer with very little modification.
Held Study 2 hour sessions with over 10 students 3-5 times per week in Engineering Schools. Classes included: Calculus 1 & 2, Statics and Dynamics. Also did indivdual sessions. Prior to entering graduate and later medical school, I tutored a variety of subjects in the area of mathematics and science. As a PhD candidate, one of the requirements was to assist in teaching the physiology labs, and as an advanced candidate, was given the opportunity to give lectures in physiology to medical and nursing students. I believe that children learn best when the material is most tangible to them. When teaching or tutoring, I make a huge effort to incorporate the students' names into math problems. I make it my goal to find out as much as I can about the students, and then put them in those environments in an imaginative way in some sort of math problem. I am extremely patient with my students, and appreciate gaining knowledge from their statements and insights. When appropriate, manipulatives are wonderful tools as well. Hands-on learners sometimes need to have creative input and control over the situation, and manipulatives allow the student and me to model the problem in a whole new way.
