I have taught for many years in all levels of secondary school, alternative schools, and tutoring centers.I eat, sleep, and drink tutoring as I tutor every day during the school year and do lots of research to help my kids in whatever academic subject is causing them difficulty. I began my teaching career for the first five years as a high school English teacher and taught regular college prep English courses.The next five years I taught English at the middle school level.Next, I got married and resigned from teaching when our first child was born. I am currently back in the Reading area after completing two years with Teach For America on Chicago's Southside. While there, I taught 9th Grade English/Test Prep and 6th Grade writing, which I loved! Two years ago, I graduated from Barnard College, which is the undergraduate women's college of Columbia University in New York. During my time in New York, I tutored many young children in English/writing and French conversation and grammar.Because of my content area, my tutoring strengths are English, writing, test-prep and grammar work. I have always possessed superior writing skills and am knowledgeable in my fields. I substituted in public and private schools and tutored in many local school districts, most recently Valley West.
