In that capacity I taught private performance lesson, coached chamber ensembles, conducted various ensembles. supervised and coached student teachers, performed in a faculty artist-in-residence quintet, performed solo recitals, assisted students in writing essays, resumes, and applications for positions in the teaching field or graduate studies. I also had many experiences helping students through difficult academic and personal issues. As a private teacher meeting individually with a student for an hour each week, I became the main academic and personal adviser for them. My comments on tutoring Piano : Lessons and tutoring available to beginning and intermediate level students. I have a B.Mus. in Piano from Houghton College and have strong experience with classical music and limited experience with other styles of keyboard playing.

Three years of classroom teaching experience with Music Theory and Aural Skills, 4 years of tutoring in Music Theory and Aural Skills; Masters Degree. B.Mus. in Piano; experienced accompanist; taken Intermediate and Advanced Keyboard Skills at the Graduate level; taught beginning and intermediate piano lessons for two years.
I am enthusiastic about music - it is my favorite subject and I love both playing music and thinking about it. My comments on tutoring Piano : I don't have much experience teaching young children, but I love music and am willing to help any age.

Everyone absorbs knowledge differently so it is important to cater to each student's particular needs. I am a very hands-on learner and I feel that is the best way to be taught, especially outside of a classroom setting. By getting the body involved in the learning process, the mind is kept stimulated.
I have helped tutor since I was a freshman in high school. I began working with kindergarteners through third grade students on reading and writing. Throughout my sophomore year of high school I tutored middle school math students (ages 11-14) and helped to train our "Mathalon" team. My junior and senior years of high school I mostly helped biology students prepare for the regents exams, as well as continued in the after school reading program for kindergarteners and preschoolers.
