Journalism is one of my top subjects! Having served as both a contributing author and editor of UNG's online newspaper publications, my passion for journalism is strong. Under the tutelage of Ron Martz, a 30+ years veteran of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, I developed a myriad of writing, editing, and interviewing skills.

My approach is patient, and I delight in allowing students to make discoveries with purposeful guidance. The overarching goal is to show students that they are capable of doing great things and achieving what they may have doubted was possible for them. During my last two years at Shorter University, I was employed by both the Shorter University Writing Center and the Shorter University Periscope (the newspaper). I spent those two years tutoring students on the composition and structure of essays, and helped them edit and proofread their work. As an editor for the newspaper, I was a mentor to all of my staff writers, as well as a contributor myself.
I believe that the best way to teach a child or student is by listening to them first. By understanding what they see in the subject, I am able to put what they need to learn into perspective for them.
