I enjoy teaching and helping youth learn. My philosophy is that all children can learn if provided the opportunity and resources that fit their learning style. I believe in positive reinforcement and praise. Children learn in many different ways, and it is an educators role to provide opportunities for children to learn through various methods. I am a positive and outgoing person and believe this is evident in my teaching and presentation style. I have worked for the past 14 years in the behavioral health care field. I have served as a mentor to a youth with behavioral/emotional issues. I hold a BA of Education with a minor in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I also hold an MSEd in Education- Counseling. I hold a current Nebraska teaching certificate and have worked with youth of all ages.

I have proven many methods of teaching, especially in instrumental music. Through large group rehearsals and individual instruction, I have been allowed to explore many types of learning tools. Kickboxing instruction has also provided even more opportunities for diverse learning. My primary method is demonstration and 'hands-on' approach, especially with learning an instrument. I enjoy being visual and kinesthetic with my teaching skills. I also enjoy using our up to date technologies in delivering instruction. I have always had an interest in math, science, and social studies along with a desire to help people. Therefore I decided to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. I have 5 years of experience working within a classroom as a Para-educator. My last internship was within a middle school social studies classroom, I had classroom sizes of 31 students.
