I am keen on students taking part actively in any lesson be it at high level academics or beginning literacy. I taught and tutored in Japan for 21 years. I was at universities, colleges, corporations, and conversation schools. I was an officer of JALT and published through their journals. In the states I have three online reviews. They can be found at Alibris.com, Amazon.com and Dorrance Publishers. In the states I have had a variety of tutoring experiences and found them interesting and worthwhile. The main aspect of tutoring is that for each individual each situation is different. And I do not consider myself to be against public schooling or against homeschooling. The US teaching arena is much more competitive outwardly than Japan, so sometimes one steps on sharp rocks and tries not to slip. I have taught for 29 years in the areas of Reading and Language Arts in grades 6th-7th- & 8th from 1985-2015 (currently). I have received much training in areas relating to Reading Approaches, Learning Styles, Vocabulay Strategies and Test Taking Skills. I have worked enormous amount of time during my teaching career as an After-School Tutor. I enjoy seeing students succeed after hard work through intervention tutorials. I believe all students can be successful through hard work and preserverance. I teach to whole group but my favorite is small group or individualized to assist students needs

I attended college later in life. Recently, the opportunity arose to better myself. I chose Early Childhood Education and then continued on to obtain my Bachelor's Degree. Following this, I returned to school for Nursing. Eventually, we moved to Texas where I applied,tested and obtained my LCCA License. While in New York State, I was employed through the Alternative Suspension Program as an LVN. While there,I assisted with the teaching of students. This in turn gave me the opportunity to obtain my certification in Teaching. I remained in this position for two years. During this time, I had my own case load of 5-8 students grade 7-12. Following this position, I was employed at a tutor for those youth who were home bound.

Achieving a BA in history from TAMUCC has taught me to peer further into investigations of any sort. It has provided me with the tools that allow me to critically analyze situations and arguments. Being able to critically analyze different perspectives gives me the ability to discover different conclusions to arguments or problems. This degree has also honed in my reading and writing skills to that of a scholar's level. While attending TAMUCC, I often found my self helping others understand the complex arguments in our philosophy classes. I accredit this to my skills acquired while doing extensive analytical research for history essays theories. Explaining, showing, teaching, have always been something that I enjoyed doing.
