Experience Summary
I am a seasoned veteran in Education. I taught for 28 years, and was a school counselor for 7 years. For the past 2 1/2 years I have been a substitute teacher, tutor for 5th graders, and part-time counselor for PreK - 5th grade at different Elementary schools in Corpus Christi, TX. I also taught Study Skills, Test Preparation
Skills, and Organizational Skills to my students.
Teaching Style
I am Special Education Certified, and know how to work with students with different disabilities. This includes
ADHD/ADD problems, Dyslexia, Reading comprehension, Autism, and many others. My daughter is Autistic, has a learning disability, and is Bi-Polar, so I have personal experience with people with disabilities. At present I am tutoring a College Student who is Autistic. I have the patience and understanding plus skills to tutor anyone.
My Hobbies
My hobbies include gardening, reading novels, playing games on the computer and my phone. I have 3 grandchildren who I adore, and try to spend as much time with as possible.
