I am an experienced special education teacher with twenty-one years of teaching experience. I have many years of experience tutoring students on a After-School Reading Program and Homework Tutoring Program in grades K-4. I am caring, patient, and understanding when working with students in need of extra-support or who have special needs, so students succeed at learning. My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : Finding synonyms, antonyms, definitions and creating sentences for vocabulary are necessary to improve vocabulary in reading comprehension, public speaking, and writing.

Over 16 years, I have taught various subjects for students with hearing impairments. I also have experience in teaching students with multiple disabilities as well. I have had experience in teaching an after school program with students who needed assistance in learning. In addition, I have taught American Sign Language classes to parents. I have experience in teaching students, ages 7-21.
I teach with a hands-on style. I incorporate various strategies based on the student's needs such as kinesthetic, visual, auditory, and a combination if needed. I observe and I assess student's strengths and weaknesses. Based on the information and results, I determine the correct strategy to use to help a student.
