I have been teaching in Chico, California for the past 26 years. I have experience with grades K-6, but really prefer 2-5th grades. I have tutored for many years, helping struggling students catch up with their peers. I have many tricks and resources to use. I have laptops and curriculum, not to mention a in-depth knowledge of state standards. I know what the children will be expected to accomplish on Common Core Standardized Tests. I have been teaching all my life. Last year, I lived in Prague, Czech Republic, and taught English to students aged five through adult. They included children, accountants, analysts, engineers, energy experts, and lawyers. I've also taught swimming lessons to individual students and group classes for over ten years. I have a Master's in Creative Writing and poetry, and I have worked as a freelance writer, editor, proofreader, and teacher for many years. I love teaching and the diverse students I meet.
