I have also filled in for my teacher while she was away to teach classes such as statics and dynamics at the undergrad level. The students seemed to have enjoyed my way of teaching. If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.

In tutoring, it is usually the case that the students can learn most of the subject without a tutor, but that each student who has difficulty has a difficulty not shared by most other students, hence not covered in class or homework. At UCR, I was a "drop-in" tutor. This means that for hours of the day in a room with 6 chalkboards, I would teach math to any UCR student who wanted to learn and answer their questions. There was hardly any down time at all; I was constantly working. I had a team of tutors that I first worked with, then managed as a mentor in my last year. As a Mentor, I kept the team's understanding of the curriculum solid as a group effort.
