I have degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have spent 18 years in mentoring, supervising, and leading others in technical manufacturing. Most recently, I am teaching middle and high school science -- 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th. This includes physical science, biology, chemistry & physics.
I am an optimist in the classroom. All kids can learn but only if they want to and the proper language is used to communicate. I use an encouraging, cooperative method to gradually uncovering the essence of the plan. I will not move on until they 'get it'. I am by nature an encourager. I am optimistic every child can learn -- the trick is to spark an interest in the subject and communicate the material to them in an understandable way. Learning at its best should be fun and educational, though not necessarily entertaining. Having said that, there are no shortcuts for hardwork and homework and repetitions on problem solving.

In tutoring math, the individual needs to have their homework present and, if available, old/recent tests so they may learn from the past as well as the present.
