During my schooling, I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education as well as a master's in Library and Information Studies. In addition I have teaching certificates for both fields as well as Biology. I've held Library, Biology, General Science, English and Math teaching positions. I also have experience tutoring students in all of these areas. I am an avid believer in authentic learning and have taught using differential instruction for many years. I believe that students learn by doing and therefore provide real life experiences to allow students to learn at their own pace.

I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected. I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. I have approximately one year of experience of professional teaching working with a grant funded program at UNCP. With this program was very hands-on and interactive with the students.
