My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.
While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics. I attended Clark University as a pre-med student and graduated with a BA in Biological Sciences. After graduation, I worked as a lab technician in a clinical immunology lab for 2 years prior to attending WPI for graduate school. While in grad school, I worked as a teaching assistant/tutor for 3 of the 4 years.
