I adjust to the student/learner as I am told or discover their learning preferences. However, in my experience and research, I have noticed that active learning and discovery-based learning are arguably most effective mechanisms for knowledge retention. Therefore, I make considerable efforts to implement these styles into my teaching.
I have always been passionate about communications and teaching. I began tutoring mathematics in High School and during my undergraduate schooling I mentored and tutored introductory university level physics, calculus, chemistry, and organic chemistry. I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory. That to me is not only developing the ability to draw on a built up knowledge base, but also broadens ones ability to convey what has been learned.

In my experience with teaching, I find that the best way to connect and convey the information is to provide aural, visual and experiential exposure to the material. Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material.
