I taught 5 years of high school level science(chemistry, physics, biology, physical science), 3 years at university level, 1 year of chemistry at community college level. . During 5 years of teaching at the high school level, I worked with students rather than just lecturing to them. I developed a student centered understanding of what helps students learn. I brought the course material together in a way that was much easier for students to understand and remember. Student responses showed that they were successful in further pulling together the material to form their own understanding of the course content.

Over the last 4-6 years I've had to teach coworkers the intricacies of engine technology (basic hydrocarbon breakdown and nitrogen depleting systems) to basic geometry and electrical circuits ( from creating concentric bends in pipe to large scale automated systems). I have not taught english to an 11th grader in a public school, but I make it a fact to learn everyday and spread the knowledge to whomever i come into contact with and is willing to learn. I have recently been studying and implementing hydrogen generating systems and the effects of injecting it into internal combustion engines.
I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. A Little Bit About Me...

My recent personal experiences have helped me to develop a heightened sense of compassion and an appreciation for teaching. When I volunteered to teach Mathematics and Business Studies (Commerce, Accounting and Economics) in the summer of 2008 in St. Patrick High School in Kenya, I learned to appreciate the teacher’s experience. Interacting with my students and my fellow teachers inside and outside classroom, allowed me to develop a great deal of compassion for the teacher-student relationship. I now have a greater appreciation for teaching, and I value being able to apply it in a classroom setting.
