Teaching and tutoring have been my life's work. Though the majority of my experience is at the college level, I love working with students of all ages. All children have the ability to learn; some need more help than others finding that one pedagogical method that really makes everything "click" for them. I am patient, am able to infuse an element of fun into my tutorials and classes, considerate, and dedicated to my students' success. After living in Spain and learning Spanish as a teenager, I accelerated quickly in the Spanish language and literature program, later going on into the Master's program. I earned my first teaching credential in California where I taught for several years before moving to Missouri.
I believe the best learning occurs when both a discrete point and holistic approach are used interactively. I like to break down the concepts into small steps which then fit together into a well-designed staircase leading up to the higher levels. I am exigent in my expectations, but relaxed and patient in my personal nature.

I love working with people to find their learning style and creating approaches that fit the way their minds work. I find a trouble subject exciting as it allows me the opportunity to delve deeper in with my student to discover how they can best absorb the information.
