Then, from September 1998 to February 2005, I taught French and English at ISTT (Institut des Sciences et Techniques du Tertiaire), a private high school in Sokode. I kept an excellent record of teaching performance till 2005 when I moved to the States. I have previously worked as a shift supervisor at Starbucks, which has given me experience training, coaching, and delegating duties to other employees. This position has in turn helped me to understand different methods of coaching others, as it applies to varying degrees of learning styles. I also am currently working as a swim instructor at Blackhawk College, which also gives me practice and experience in teaching students of varying age groups and levels and also provides me with an opportunity to learn more about how to interact with students. In addition, I work as a substitute teacher, which in turn helps me to also learn varying degrees of learning and delegation styles. I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process. I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. Throughout those years I've encountered many special needs students and many bright students, tutoring in subjects ranging from English, Math, Social Studies, to Computer Science.

Since my elementary years I've always been a student driven to succeed and pursue higher levels of education. Recently I've graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. I can also speak and handle any questions in Spanish at an intermediate level. Furthermore, I served as a junior mentor in the CADS (Center for Alcohol and Drug Services) after school program, tutoring and leading the kids in organized fun.
