A Little Bit About Me...

I believe I have a talent for taking a complex subject, and simplifying it in such a way that anyone can understand it. That is how I was able to successfully tutor many fellow students since high school. It is also how I managed to do well enough myself in science classes.
While working for Professor Weiss at the Pennsylvania State University as an undergraduate researcher for four years, I gained experience in scanning tunneling microscopy, self-assembled monolayers, molecular electronics, and nanotechnology generally. I independently designed and carried out experiments relating to thermodynamics, scanning tunneling microscopy, and self-assembled monolayers. I was a part of other research projects involving the same, as well as nanoparticles, molecular electronics, and surface catalysis. A Little Bit About Me...

I try to tailor my style to the student. Each student I had tutored when I was in college I had basically spoke with them, got to learn what they strong points were, their weaknesses, and areas that needed more base learning. I tailored lesson plans to help fill in their educational gaps, created small weekly assignments, and also helped with their current homework/lesson plan. I believe everyone learns in different ways. Some are more visual, others are more auditory so I tried to not only explain but also show by using whatever tools necessary/applicable (graphs, pictures, charts, etc.)

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is a difficult task. Everyone learns at a different pace and on their own level. Some students are quick learners and their teacher only needs to go over the lesson once; other students need to hear the subject content in a different form to understand it. Having said that, I can't explain my teaching style as a cut and dry formula. The skill level of each student and the way they process information will determine how I will present them with questions and explanations.
