I prefer to work one on one with a single student, I do my very best to make my student feel comfortable and ready to learn. I learn what the student likes; music, sports, movies, I use these things to relate to the student and then i'm able to relate the learning material to the students favorite things which I think helps them to be more receptive. I began tutoring while in high school, as a junior and senior I would spend 2-3 afternoons a week at the Middle School helping the learning support classes write book reports. While in college at Slippery Rock University, I put up flyers around campus and worked as an independent tutor for five dollars an hour aiding my fellow students finish their final papers at the end of each semester. I feel that my degree in Creative Writing aids me greatly in tutoring because my ability to think outside the box and put myself in the writers shoes help

I love every aspect of music. I am a self taught guitarist as were Roy Clark and BB King. I learned on an old wooden guitar my dad found. I have played since I was nine. I would watch the neighbor boys play because they had lessons and I didn't. My experience includes playing contemporary Christian music with my church praise band. I played for the United H.S. production of "Grease". I also worked with the Salem H.S. Jazz Band and mentored students for a Musical Production. I am currently playing in the band, Uptown Saturday Night. We play music from the 60's through the 70's and are taking my area by storm.
