I prefer to work one on one with a single student, I do my very best to make my student feel comfortable and ready to learn. I learn what the student likes; music, sports, movies, I use these things to relate to the student and then i'm able to relate the learning material to the students favorite things which I think helps them to be more receptive. I began tutoring while in high school, as a junior and senior I would spend 2-3 afternoons a week at the Middle School helping the learning support classes write book reports. While in college at Slippery Rock University, I put up flyers around campus and worked as an independent tutor for five dollars an hour aiding my fellow students finish their final papers at the end of each semester. Since I have been playing a lot of years, I have developed different techniques that enable me to play faster and more clear with ease to the fingers and wrists. Playing in a band and playing every weekend has made me learn different ways to keep up with the demanding songs that we play. Knowing all the chords is ok but it makes you somewhat limited. If you can master the chords of major E, A, C, F, G, and D, then you have all the basic things you need to play. Minors come later. After these basic chords, everything will fall into place.
