Multi-subject tutoring: maths, Chinese, English

I've had previous experience tutoring, mainly working with kids aged from 7 to 15. I used to be a part-time teacher in an English as a second language institute for a year. Conducting engaging and informative lessons is my passion, and I love to see people improve after they take my class. I have a solid background in maths, and I can also tutor elementary physics and chemistry. I will be able to conduct lessons in areas such as science, English, and since I'm a Chinese student, I can also teach Chinese(mandarin). Teaching Chinese and maths is my strength. My comments on tutoring SAT - Math : 2360 SAT score and got into the Ivy school of my dreams. (Also, I hated impersonal test prep classes.) We'll use guided practice, meta-test strategies, and the essential skill of "making test prep not a total drag" to ensure your/your student's success!

A Little Bit About Me...

My desire to teach and tutor students in mathematics comes from my love of the subject. I have always enjoyed math and truly enjoy passing on my knowledge of math. I understand that many people do not share my passion for numbers but I work with my students to help them achieve a greater understanding and appreciation for mathematics. When I begin with a new student I like to spend a few minutes discussing the goals he or she has for our sessions. I have formally tutored with Madison College on two occasions lasting a year. I was also Tutoring throughout my time at Edgewood on a drop in basis with any students that came to the math department and could not reach a professor. I have a BS in Mathematics and doing math at all levels is fun for me.
I enjoy helping students work through tough problems by allowing them to make mistakes and then rework the problem a couple of times the correct way. Since this is my area of expertise, I am able to come up with examples on the fly that will target the areas most troublesome to the student. Mathematics is a field that requires repetition but making that repetition as interesting as possible is a fun challenge.
