Knowing that all students learn in different ways, I do my best to provide multiple ways of teaching concepts that students find difficult. I believe in inquiry based learning. While some student’s questions require a direct answer, others can more effectively be answered with a question. I try to find ways to redirect a student’s lack of understanding in a direction that they do understand, and then build upon that knowledge to fill in the gaps they may have. There is no better moment that when a child becomes engaged and starts understanding and asking questions. Once a child starts asking questions you know that they are excited about it and want to learn. When teaching my goal is always to get children excited about what they are doing and then proceed from there. All children have different strengths and I try to work from those strengths.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. This degree required excellent science and math skills to complete. I have taken math through Calc 2 and advanced science courses such as organic chemistry and genetics. I feel that I have a very solid background in math and science and could teach it well. I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography.
