Knowing that all students learn in different ways, I do my best to provide multiple ways of teaching concepts that students find difficult. I believe in inquiry based learning. While some student’s questions require a direct answer, others can more effectively be answered with a question. I try to find ways to redirect a student’s lack of understanding in a direction that they do understand, and then build upon that knowledge to fill in the gaps they may have. This builds on a student’s ability to think through problems and develop the ability to problem solve on their own which is what they would have to do in the classroom.

I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography.
I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. Attending a small liberal arts school sparked my desire to teach students in a small group setting. My teaching style is different for each student. I have never considered myself a student that things come easy to. I always had to find a way to relate to the material, and when I tutor that is exactly what I try to achieve with each student. Sometimes all it takes is it being explained one more time a different way.
As a graduate of the top chiropractic school in the world, I have achieved a high level of education. I have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Through out the years I have taught 5-8th graders in various subjects, as well as helped teach for a national board review company to chiropractic students all over the country in a variety of topics. A Little Bit About Me...

There is no better moment that when a child becomes engaged and starts understanding and asking questions. Once a child starts asking questions you know that they are excited about it and want to learn. When teaching my goal is always to get children excited about what they are doing and then proceed from there. All children have different strengths and I try to work from those strengths.
I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. I have taken extensive courses in math and science. Math and science are fields that I love and excel at. While in undergrad I was active in many student organizations and volunteer opportunities. I volunteered at science olympiad for a year and also tutored middle school students. I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. This degree required excellent science and math skills to complete. I love teaching in a hands on style in which the student not only has an algorithm of how to solve a specific problem, but has a thorough understanding of the concepts behind the algorithm. I enjoy having analogies or hands-on activities to demonstrate the concepts. I believe that many times people understand the basic concepts from physics in their daily life, but are frightened by equations. Using analogies or hands-on examples initially reinforces their knowledge and increases their confidence which decreases the fear of equations.
