A Little Bit About Me...

Mike's Guitar Studio is based on the belief that the students needs are of the utmost importance. The Studio is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. Lessons are catered towards what the student wants to learn. There is no one method that works for each student. Each student has different ways of learning, we recognize this and apply it to our teaching policy. The Lessons should be a fun and positive experience as the student progresses on his or her instrument. The primary instructor/ owner, Mike Benninger, has a B.M. in music performance from Keene State College and a M.M. in music performance from the Yale School of Music. Mike's Guitar Studio is located in New Windsor in Mike's Home Recording/Music studio. Recording can be an added tool for recording lessons, songs, pieces, and ideas.

Branched off into dinnerware design, home decorating and jewelry design. I believe it is the responsibility of a teacher is not only to present the material in a clear and organized way but also to show excitement and love for the subject. Enthusiasm is contagious; students will be excited about learning a particular subject if their teacher is eager and excited about teaching it. Part of teaching is to convince the students that the material is not only knowable, but also worth knowing. I believe all students can succeed under the right circumstances. I received my BA from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. In addition to my psychology degree, I also studied Spanish extensively. Based on the liberal arts education that I received, I am fully capable of teaching a number of subjects including Spanish, History, and English. Currently, I teach Spanish and US History at a private boarding middle school in Connecticut but am moving to San Francisco for the summer.
