A Little Bit About Me...

Upon my decision to return to college and obtain my BS degree, it was discovered that I possessed an uncanny, natural talent involving all aspects of the studies surrounding English. Reading, comprehension, symbolism, poetry, creative writing, poise, maturitym ,ect. After that placement exam, it was decided that I did not have to take any English courses, or, I would take more advanced courses. I did choose the latter. Throughout the last 10 years, I have helped my husband, brother, all of my children, etc. I have tutored them on how to write a well developed paper on their topic of choice, and have it read showing the expertise of the writer. I possess the same talents when it comes to proper grammar. I also teach Catholisim to the 8th grade once per week for 2 hours. I prepare them for the sacrament of confirmation. After attending Villanova University and Fordham University's Graduate School of Business Administration, I began tutoring part-time with Studypoint. When I started working at Colchester High School in Vermont, I initially identified myself much more with the students than the teachers and staff. Back in high school, I went out of my way to rebel against the school. In Vermont I quickly learned that there is a big difference-- that as an adult now, I am on the "other side," but can use this closeness I feel with the adolescent mindset to help with the learning process for the kids. I have recently graduated from Purchase College with an Undergraduate degree in Music with a minor in English. During School I tutored students in English composition and edited students essays and papers during the entirety of my undergraduate education. I have also taught voice and music theory to students privately. In High-school I scored a 97 percent out of 100 on the English regents exam. I recently received a full scholarship to complete my masters at the University of Maryland.
