Marine Biology is one of my top subjects! I received my B.Sc. in Biology with a marine emphasis in 2012 with an overall gpa of 3.7. I have conducted marine science research with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (La Jolla, CA), the Shannon Point Marine Center (Anacortes, WA), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, La Jolla, CA). I worked for NOAA for a year in a marine mammal genetics lab following graduation from university. While in school, I was a TA for a Marine Invertebrate Zoology and a Marine Vertebrate Zoology course. I tutored marine science students for 2 years.

Studied marine biology for 4 years at university, completing three summer research programs with three well-known marine institutions. During the summer of 2010, I interned with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography creating 3-dimensional models of an endangered species of coral (Acropora palmata) in order to gain better estimates of surface area. The summer of 2011 I spent conducting an AAUS (scientific diving) internship in Anacortes, Washington, at the Shannon Point Marine Center, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). I feel I learn as much as I teach. I value every student that I have the opportunity to work with. I have learned some students just need to overcoming their dislike of a subject. For others, a key subject building block had been built properly (as in Math) and as a result the rest of the information was sitting unstable in their minds.
