I next worked as a long-term substitute teacher for a year. I was then offered a full-time, permanent teaching position as a fourth grade elementary school teacher. This position lasted three years. I started teaching Sunday School when I was in Junior High. I taught a little boy in my class how to read and it was the most rewarding experience I have ever encountered. As aforementioned, throughout high school, I began tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, Science, and History. I tutored one 6th grade student who was ADHD. He had several tutors before me, but none had the patience to work with him. I started tutoring him and fell in love with this particular child. Over the course of my career, I have taught a wide variety of courses for age groups K-12 which include: English, math, history, geography and English as a second language. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught in private schools in California for 15 years ( 1980-1994). I started as a teacher, then became a Media Specialist, then a Vice Principal and finally a principal. I moved to Indiana in 1994, where I taught in public school for 3 years. We moved back to California in 2000. Since that time I have served as a Library Media Specialist and Reading Teacher.
