As a regular classroom teacher, I felt hampered due to class size. I was never satisfied connecting with just a few students. Every student was important to me. I realized that the only way for me to really reach students was by reducing the teacher-student ratio. As a tutor, I found that teaching smaller groups of students or one-on-one was for me. Using this style, I feel strongly that students learn more, particularly at home. Students are much more comfortable at home which creates an excellent environment for learning. Learning is a joyful experience and students have a better chance of tapping into their potential.

While completing my BS in engineering, I spent two years tutoring math, physics, and optics. During my senior year I was also able to teach a portion of two terms of the freshman optics class. During the last four years I have worked as an aerospace engineer, and as a private contractor. Although these weren't teaching positions, I believe that these experiences have given me unique opportunities to share my knowledge and will be helpful to me in the future for teaching and tutoring.
What strikes me most as I look back at my education is how much of an impact a teacher can have when they make their subject relevant to their students. I place a high value on practical education. I graduated high school at the top of my class and received my AA degree just a few of months later- all while working full-time. I then obtained my BA in Organizational Management and I am now in a local graduate degree program. Because of my heavy workload I was able to develop effective and efficient study methods. Florida Writes is designed to measure students' proficiency in writing responses to assigned topics within a designated testing period. Find your tutor now. Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible. Additionally, beginning in 2010, each student within the same grade level was required to write an essay using the same mode of writing (narrative, expository, or persuasive).
