During high school, a manager at work asked if I would help tutor his Hispanic children. The tutoring lasted for about a year and we were all satisfied with the results. After graduating from Rutgers in 2006 with a BA in Psychology, I found a job as a residential counselor for the Devereux Foundation. Math and writing were top priorities and daily notes were taken to see how well each client progressed each week. This is often a result of inadequate teaching practices which fail to recognize individual learning differences in students.
