Math is one of my top subjects! Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus,and Basic Math Skills

I don't really have a teaching style because I have never been an actual tutor before. But, I love helping people and I always helped my friends with homework, especially in math. I am not the kind of tutor who will just give you the answers, I like to make you think about the problem and come up with your own answer. If the answer is wrong, I will ask you to look again and see where you made mistakes and, if needed, I will point them out for you. I really want to help you learn and grow so, eventually, you won't need a tutor.
I'm am a current college student at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I graduated from Malcolm High School with high honors (3.948 GPA) and I currently have a 3.6 GPA (I've found college is a little harder than high school). Part Time Tutor Available

During my college years I worked closely with younger students who needed help with studies, and since my graduation from college continue to work with those that need assistance with various topics of learning. Teacher looking to help students learn to love math!

Out of college, I substitute taught for a year, where I gained the ability to adapt to the needs and personalities of many different students. I have spent 2 1/2 years teaching grades 6-12 in an alternative school, working one-on-one with students, giving them the individual attention and education they need. I ran a before and after school program for 2 years working with K-5 students. I currently teach math interventions and Algebra at a middle school in Lincoln, working with grade 6-8.

Good teaching requires knowing both where a student is currently and where they need to go next. It is important to understand that each student may take a slightly different path in getting from "here" to "there." My goal is to focus on the strengths and find ways to overcome the weaknesses.
After teaching 2 years at a large public High School, I spent 5 years as a Research Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. This experience gives me a practical understanding of research and science that I could not have achieved had I limited my career to teaching alone. For the past year I have been teaching at the LPS Science Focus Program where I have greatly diversified my experience.
