I have six years of education from Grambling State University. I was featured in student shows, and also put on a senior exhibition at Grambling State University. I held an Arts and Crafts program at the Boys and Girls Club of NCLA. I have placed in gallery shows. I was an avid participate in the Art Guild of Grambling State Univeristy.

I have one year art teaching experience at a public school. I also have had 5 years in an art school to develop my schools. While at the public school I taught 7th through 12th graders. I taught them various drawing skills that grew steadily stronger each and every day we drew. At the end of the school semester I had several students whose worked exceeded what I thought possible. Ans one student was granted a scholarship to a school based upon my recommendation.

First and foremost, I understand that no two children learn the same. I believe many children struggle in a learning environment simply because they are not comfortable with it. I excel at personal communication, and make it my first goal to find out how the student is going to learn the best. Whether it requires dancing, music, pictures, whatever it takes, once a student is comfortable they are far more likely to absorb information. This holds true for any age. I want the student to understand that they are capable of learning anything, they just may not have had the right opportunity to yet. That said, I like to make exercises fun, but I know when and when not to be stern. As a single mom raising four children, I received my degree in Elementary Education and have taught one year as a preschool teacher of children birth through five years with disabilities, seven years as a first grade teacher, and 13 years of students 6th through 8th grade. I enjoy working with all levels of students and my greatest desire is that each child is capable of excelling in all areas of their education. A Little Bit About Me...

As a 22 year veteran teacher and now a Children's Director of Ministry, I have worked in most all capacities with children and feel that God gave me this gift. I feel that all children learn differently and at their own pace and therefore learning should be adjusted to fit their needs. I believe we all learn in different ways, and I am always open minded in finding the best way for that student I am working with at that time. I believe everyone can achieve the highest of goals if we all strive for that success and find out a way to get there. However, most of all I hope I can leave a feeling of respect for the studies and for the people around us.
I have earned a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I am currently working as a chemist, so I have kept up with all the new studies that are taking place right now.
