A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach and help others in general. I always had difficulty when I was younger finding a tutor or some help in my studies that I could understand easily. I am a very patient and have a great sense of humor that come in handy during subjects of frustration. I believe if you can bring a child into their comfort zone and put the directions in the most simple fashion, a child can learn anything! I'd love to turn a subject they avoid into a subject to brag about...
I just graduated with a BA in Psychology and are two courses short of a minor in Spanish and Sociology. I've always been very strong in the English/Language Arts/Writing areas as well. I am currently a certified substitute teacher and also already do some elementary tutoring. Some of my previous tutoring experience include writing, some psychological statistics and some basic math/language skills.

I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. I served in The Gambia West Africa as a health and community development volunteer. As a volunteer I worked in a local hospital on a daily basis, performing a variety of roles. I am a graduate of Roger Williams University. I have a BS in biology. RWU's science courses are intensive in both lecture and laboratory proficiency. As a result I’m able to tutor both lecture and laboratory portions of a course.

As a college graduate, I value the importance of education. I've earned a bachelor degree- a Bs in Biology where I've gained knowledge of science and math. In addition, I also have a Teacher's Certification for Elementary Education in a Hebrew school setting from Midrashah Junior College. A Little Bit About Me...

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in May 2005, from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. I have excellent communications skills, and a very strong teaching /and/ Computer background. I have a remarkable ability to inspire and work with others. Many of my students are from different countries, and struggle with the English language. I presently teach Poker dealers. I do not let this hinder them, or me. I simply teach them enough English to increase their confidence to complete my class. A Little Bit About Me...

It's true that every student learns at a different pace with a different style. I like to see myself as a cameleon teacher, catering my format to individual needs. My style tends to be laid back so that students are comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes with me, curbing their fear of not understanding something. I love to use metaphors, pictures, examples and stories to illustrate the subject in a new and perhaps clearer way. I don't teach and run - I make sure the student understands before moving on to the next problem. I have them work through something in front of me so I can make sure they know what they're doing.
