I have taught 15 years in the Missouri public school system. I have taught fine arts, K-12, throughout my career. I have organized and taught an at-risk study hall, provided after school tutoring for 6th graders. I taught 6th grade mathmatics. and tutored reading after school. Teaching riding and horsemanship is what sparked my desire to teach. Before I became a teacher I worked with mentally challanged adults and was a job coach for individuals that had sustanined tramatic head injuries. I have 22 graduate hour in special education and have worked with special student in school and an institutional settings. I love to help student learn how to learn. When I had the opportunity to design and teach a Vo-Tech. School program from the ground up, I realized my love and passion for teaching and making a difference in the lives of my students. Being semi-retired with lots of time available, I am living out my passion by substitute teaching middle and high school students in my local school district. With a rich science and english background, I feel I can make a difference by helping those less fortunate academically in many areas.
