I am a green building and energy efficiency specialist with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Though I am a building scientist and love teaching math and the sciences, I take great pleasure and excel in creative and technical writing and have authored multiple books, essays, and scientific publications. I am able to teach children of all ages and also am able to tailor my teaching style to the age I am teaching. Through encouragement and pointing in the correct direction instead of just giving an answer, I believe that the student learns best. Because I know all students learn at in different ways and at different paces, I am very patient in helping the student discover how best they learn and encourage them not to get upset if they do not “get it” right away. It believe it is my duty to help them not only get good grades but also to try and relate the subject being tutored into their lives.

Communication has always been an interest of mine so I pursued a journalism degree and spent many hours in education to be an adept communicator through the written word.
