Holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, I tutored in a math lab during the summer of my college years and later went into the Peace Corps in Zimbabwe to teach math and science to high school level students. I have also worked as a civil engineer and have directly applied my civil engineering degree in designing grading and utility plans for commercial developments. As a female working in a male dominated field I feel strongly about supporting young girls in pursing their dreams just as equally as young boys. I have enjoyed a unique educational background, having been required to study all academic disciplines as an undergraduate. The benefits of this unique approach to education later inspired me to earn a Master's degree in the development of consciousness, which is the basis for the learning process. My studies have also included intensive foreign language courses at UCSC, the Goethe Institute, and M.U.M..
