My first tutoring experience actually began when I was a high school senior and tutored ESL students at South High School. Since then I have worked in a summer program tutoring elementary ESL students, gone on to graduate with degrees in English and Environmental Studies, and most recently, worked as an Americorps member at Andersen Elementary and Open in Minneapolis. I use Google extensively to look for similar examples to the problems the student might be having. I believe that it is best to solve any given problem in at least two different ways if you really want to get some insight. It also helps in either verifying your answer or checking if you are in the ballpark.
