I like to be presented with the material at hand and evaluate what the child/student knows before I dive in. After this initial assessment, I take more of an interactive approach. I constantly offer feedback and guide the student in reaching the correct answers without just giving them away. If the problem calls for drawings or manipulatives, I utilize these resources to the fullest.
My area of expertise is the English language and grammar. I took two year's worth of Advanced Placement English classes during high school and made either 4's or 5's on both exams. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Having studied various languages, in addition to studying my own language (English), I am an expert of Grammar and linguistic variations thereof.

During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. I have studied 12 different languages and I have obtained varying degrees of proficiency in each of them: Latin, Romanian, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German, Danish, Swedish, Greek, Scottish Gaelic, and Welsh. I tutored an 8th grade-9th grade boy in TCAPS preparation and helped him complete homework in Math (pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-geometry), Science (biology), and English. I tutored him for two years. After I graduated high school I was accepted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I am currently in the spring semester of my sophomore year. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that everyone learns information at a different pace and that some information is easier to process than other information. I believe that individuals should be comfortable while learning in order for them to actually learn.
