A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 2001, I taught 2nd grade for one year. As a first year teacher, I completed the Teacher Induction Program, also known as the TIP Program. Additionally, I took and passed the following state exams: Professional Ed, Elementary Ed, and Middle Grades Mathematics. A desire to to attain specific math certification arose when I relocated to a different county and accepted a position teaching middle school math. I enjoyed this position very much, but resigned upon the birth of my son. Now, I believe a position utilizing my teaching experience with flexible, afternoon hours would be an ideal fit for me.

My philosophy in teaching is that the best way to learn a language is by listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the target language. I make my students listen and then repeat (good pronunciation is a plus in any language and I focus on that, too), some practice with reading and then writing to get covered the 4 basic skills in a language.
